Transitioning your dog onto Eureka

It’s always best to take a gentle & safe approach to transitioning your dog onto a new food to avoid any “explosive” situations. Some dogs can “woof” down anything without any issues and others tends to be a little more sensitive when it comes to their diet.

Because Eureka air-dried dog food is more nutritionally dense than most commercial diets we recommend starting with a gradual transition period over a period of 7 days to avoid any stomach issues. This allows your pet’s digestive system time to adjust as you increase the amount of Eureka in their diet.

Some dogs with sensitive stomachs, food allergies, or other gastrointestinal diseases may require an even longer transition period. The trick to a safe diet transition is to monitor your dog’s response to their new food. If, at any point during the diet transition, your dog displays concerning signs such as changes in appetite, vomiting, or diarrhea, you should proceed more slowly. Remember, it is normal for your dog to have soft stools for 1-2 weeks as the gut adjusts to a new, energy dense diet.
